An inverted fluorescence microscope is a type of optical microscope specifically designed for observing specimens that are cultured or immobilized on the bottom of a container, such as a petri dish or a multi-well plate. Unlike traditional microscopes where the objective lens is positioned above the specimen, in an inverted fluorescence microscope, the objective lens is located below the specimen stage, while the light source and condenser are above the specimen.
